The idea of having a surprise hidden inside of cake, bread, or other treats was just too much for me to ignore! Here are two new make-at-home cupcake kits that feature a hidden 'surprise'.
The first is Disney Pixar Surprise Inside Cakes Kit. Cleverly, it is based on Pixar's latest release called 'Inside Out', in which the emotions inside a teenage girl's mind are played out as characters with their own personalities story-lines. It seems like a concept created especially for a 'surprise inside cake'! The cake kit includes vanilla sponge mix and icing sugar, and of course the surprise..... chocolate beans! You just have to add eggs and water. The cupcakes are baked in 15 minutes and, once cool, you then use a knife to cut a hole in the top of each, fill with the chocolate beans, and then replace the piece of sponge over the filled hole. Finally, you pipe the frosting mix onto the cupcakes and nobody will ever guess what's inside.... Apart from yourself, unfortunately! The kit makes enough for 10 cupcakes.
£1.48, Asda
If, however, you're not at primary school but still fancy giving these a go, then take a look at this second version: Asda Chocolate Pinata Cupcake Kit. It's the same concept, but the kit looks a lot better quality and the cupcakes are bigger (adult sized?!) which means more surprise!
