McDonalds' Great Tastes of the World

Burger King have just released a new range of European-inspired menu items, which look set to hang around for the autumn and early winter at least. McDonalds have gone one better, in my opinion. They've come up with 'Great Tastes of the World', travelling further afield for their inspiration than Burger King. They've also taken 'limited edition' to a new level because 'Great Tastes of the World' is only running for 5 weeks and only one of its line-up is available each week. This week it's Australia's turn, with the BBQ Champion. It's an oval beef burger with with bacon, cheese, Batavia lettuce, onions, cool mayo and sweet & tangy BBQ sauce in a sesame topped bun. Next week (starting on the 9th September) it's the Italian Classic, featuring an oval burger with pepperoni, cheese, shredded lettuce, onions and a rich tomato sauce in a cheese topped bun. Then it's the Canadian Melt, with maple cured bacon, cheese, crispy onions and Batavia lettuce with a Maple BBQ sauce in a sesame topped bun. After that it's Brazil's turn with the Brazilian Spicy. This burger comes with bacon, crispy onions, cool mayo, sliced onions and shredded lettuce with a spicy Brazilian style salsa in a paprika topped bun. Last, but not least, is the South African Deluxe, with with a tangy chutney, cool mayo, crispy onions, Batavia lettuce, Pepperjack cheese and bacon in a hot and spicy bun.

If beef isn't your thing, then an Indian Chutney Chicken burger is available for all 5 weeks. This is a crispy comes with spiced onion chutney, yoghurt & mint mayo, shredded lettuce and onions in a toasted bun.
