Barenaked Noodles

The terms 'dieting' and 'pasta' do not go well together. Quite frankly, pasta is the nemesis of most weight watchers. This was the premise and inspiration behind the birth of Barenakedfoods. The clever lads behind the company turned their pasta cravings into a quest for creating a product which would fulfill the hunger pangs of people who were trying to stick to a healthy diet. These Barenaked noodles are derived from the konjac plant which is a type of yam. They are so versatile, yet they are naturally low-carb so are ideal for people who are dieting. They're an unbelievable 8 calories per 100g of cooked noodles. Not only that, they're also gluten-free, sugar-free and low-calorie – perfect for people with a gluten intolerance or diabetes. The Barenaked guys had the gumption to go to the Dragons Den for support, and thankfully those clever Dragons saw sense and backed their idea. So now we have these Barenaked noodles on our supermarket shelves. You can find them in Morrisons or Waitrose (£1.49 for a pack of 380g pre-cooked noodles).
