New Yogurts

Skyr Icelandic Yogurt

For hundreds of years Icelanders have enjoyed the nutritious benefits of Skyr (pronounced 'skee-er') as part of their daily diet. Carefully strained to create a delicious, silky texture, it's low in fat and sugar, but high in protein. With all natural ingredients, It's the Icelandic Super Yogurt. These 150g pots are newly available in Tesco for 85p, and comprise of strained yogurt on a fruity layer. Available at my nearest Tesco in Strawberry, Mixed Berry, Sour Cherry and Apple & Lingonberry flavours. Yup, that's right - Lingonberry! Apparently it's a berry from a shrub native to the Arctic tundra, and looks a little like a cranberry.

But if Icelandic yogurt doesn't take your fancy, how about Lebanese style yogurt???!

Nomadic Labneh
Despite sitting amongst the sweeter yogurts in the supermarket aisle, this new yogurt has a very savoury taste. Labneh is even thicker than Greek yogurt and is perfect for using as a dip. In the Middle East, it's used in a similar way to hummus.

£1.39 for 350g pot in Tesco

Onken Greek Style
But if you'd still rather stick with the Greek... here are some tantalising new and somewhat novel flavours from Onken. Available in Rhubarb & Ginger, Lemon & Raspberry, and Apple & Cinnamon.
£1.79 for 450g pot in Tesco.

Tesco Custard Style Layered Desserts
100g pots of a custard style layered dessert available in Gooseberry and Apple & Blackberry flavours.
£1.25 for a pack of 4.

Muller Light: Chocolate Fix Layers
Good news for chocolate-lovers and dieters! Chocolate and caramel were made for each other. Perhaps that’s why Muller has combined it into two luscious layers in the new Chocolate Fix desserts. Oh happy days....
