Putting that frankly
unhelpful World Health Organisation news to one side for a moment,
feast your eyes on Eat’s glorious new Christmas menu. As of yesterday, you can
treat yourself to a seasonal tub of pigs in blankets for lunch. With a dollop
of cranberry sauce on the side of course. Or, for an extra special start to
your day, there’s the Pigs in Blanket Breakfast Butty of dreams. Okay that
*might* not be the official name. The tiny sausages wrapped in bacon duvets
(made from 100 per cent British pork) are making their debut on the sandwich
chain’s Christmas menu this year. They join fellow newcomer, the Turkey, Bacon and Stuffing
Pie, which is made up of a delicious, creamy filling of sautéed onion and
leek, thyme and sage, chunks of British turkey and smoked bacon, chestnut and
cranberry stuffing, and served with a side of creamy mash and gravy. You can then wash it all down with the Spicy Brownie Hot
Chocolate.
